Cubs Thinking of Others at Christmas
Each Christmas our brilliant Cubs put together ‘Thinking of Others’ sweets to send to others who might be feeling lonely or away from home over the holidays. There was no way the Covid-19 pandemic was going to put a stop to that, so this year they sent the sweets out to sea to a former Cub and Scout now serving in the Royal Navy to share with his crew. We were delighted to receive the below message back.
“Myself and all the crew onboard wish that all the Cubs and leaders had a very merry Christmas and an even happier new year! Thank you all so much for the package of sweeties that you sent along with the letter and card. I handed them out on Christmas Eve during the secret Santa. Myself and all of the crew really appreciate it. The letter got passed around and everyone loved the kind words. I got to sound the horn last night to bring in the new year as I am the youngest onboard. I hope that the Cubs enjoyed their Pokemon Christmas Day at Barrwood. I’ve got some great memories of Barrwood from over the years”
