Environmental Activities – Pollution Solutions!!

Date: 5th May 2026 Author: Margaret Cowie
April ended on a real environmental high for all our sections.
The Beavers got hands on making bee bombs and insect houses, all taken home to create safe spaces for bees and bugs across Braehead.
Our Cubs headed out for a litter pick around Braehead Primary School, while the Beavers tackled Kings Park. Together they collected over 15+ bags of rubbish, making a huge difference to our local green spaces.
Meanwhile, The Scout section spent the weekend at an environmental themed camp at Muiravonside Country Park. Their programme included litter picking, making bee bombs, and learning about local wildlife and natural habitats.
A massive thank you to FEL Scotland for the grant that funded our litter picking equipment and supporting the Scout camp. The kit has already been put to great use and will continue to benefit our young people and the community for years to come.
Finally, well done to all our adult volunteers for planning, organising, and leading these activities. None of this would happen without your time, energy, and enthusiasm.
