Date: 17th Feb 2024 Author: David Cowie
Well, where do I even start!
What a fantastic trip to London we have had this past week.
It commenced on Monday with a very early train to London then a trip to London Bridge. Finally bedding down onboard the Lord Armory Scout Boat at Canary Warf.
Tuesday was the Imperial War Museum & sightseeing at Big Ben, West Minister Abbey and the Houses of Parliament and  Buckingham Palace .
Tuesday evening was a trip out to meet some local scouts from London and a former local leader Benjamin Rowley.
Wednesday was all things science. A trip to the science museum including power up which was all the video game console’s you think of…. Wednesday afternoon was the Lego store, M&M store and of course all things fun at Hamleys
Our young leaders had the opportunity to do a special activity and climb over the top of the 02 Arena before returning to the boat.
Thursday was the Tower of London and a chance to see the Crown jewels.  Shortly followed by the Torture chamber and Armoury. Then some fun at a petting zoo and park.
An early return to the boat before the special surprise of a trip to see the Lion King Performance at the Lyceum Theatre  which went down well!
Friday was a cleaning morning then a train journey home.
An absolute fantastic trip, the Scouts were excellent and really did well with an average of 20,000 steps walked everyday.

Finally, I want to thank all of the leaders for supporting the trip and making it such a fantastic event and to our young leaders that attended too.

This  trip would not have been possible without each and every one of you.
